Helios Stitches N Stuff is pleased to announce that they have moved downstairs into the old Blooming Acres location in the First Street Community Center building.

Blooming Acres is now located down the hall in a much bigger space next to Mount Vernon Confections.

The new Helios site will be about 1/3 larger and will be much more accessible as customers won’t have to walk up or down steps to get to the store if they take the front sidewalk around to the East side of the building. The location is also right next to the main parking lot which will make it easy for customers to get from their car to the shop.

The new Helios location has been built out to meet the needs of a modern quilt shop. The drop ceilings were removed to accommodate the hanging of sample quilts and the walls were painted a warm orange color to mimic the Helios logo. Special LED daylights were added to give the room a “daylight” feel and to make the fabric colors pop.

Even special attention was given to the ceiling: a faux tin covering was added to give the room a more industrial theme and to encourage customers to look up.

Many of the new furnishings are from Alice’s Wonderland (located in Uptown Mount Vernon) and they are designed to further accentuate the metallic look of the room.
